What are we studying?
For the next 12 months the high school ministry will be going through "A Modern Catechism" based on Charles Spurgeon's Puritan Catechism. Each week will have a different emphasis on the essential truths of the Christian faith. More info & a downloadable PDF of the catechism coming soon.
Who We Are
We are a toe in the body of Christ at Redding Christian Fellowship that ministers to high school students who desire to encounter the living God through His Word, Worship, & Community. We want to become more like Christ and to live out this life in Grace, Truth, & Joy to the Glory of God.
When & Where Do We Meet?
Every Wednesday @ 7 PM in "The Chapel" (for directions, click here).
Every Sunday @ 10:30 AM in "The Chapel"
What Happens At Sunday School?
Sunday School is not the best name for what we do. It's more like a full blown worship service geared towards students. Junior High & High School are together for worship through song & preaching. Then we separate for a time of discussion. We meet in The Chapel at 10:30 on Sunday mornings.
What Happens On Wednesday Nights?
TEACHING::
God's Word is not a dusty, old, outdated book. At least it's not supposed to be. It is alive & active & through the help of the Holy Spirit it's meant to be understood & lived out. It deals with issues from integrity to illegal drugs, from shoplifting to sex, from the effects of sin to using profanity & everything in between. Teaching also happens communally in the context of small groups.
WORSHIP::
We strongly believe that worship is not confined to music but rather that music allows one of many powerful expressions of acting out worship. Worship through music is very powerful & very important to us. Most of it is student led with an emphasis on worshipping in Spirit & Truth rather than just rocking out. (but we do that too!)
FUN::
Having fun together is a natural extension of spending good time together. Don't think for a second that we are some super spiritual monks that pray & read the Bible 24/7. We love to interact & play together with games, shooting hoops, goofing around, & just hanging out.
What Are Small Groups?
Sometimes it's easy to get lost in a crowd, even a small crowd like ours. Small Groups exist for you to connect with a handful of other students in a deep way & discuss Life, God, Relationships, & even more! They meet each Wednesday night with one or more of our adult staff who love students & want to help you pursue God & others.
Who's In Charge?
Jesus, Laurel Bennet, Brenda Conklin, Dave Donarico, Melanie Flory, Esther Mapes, Ali Mielke, Rachel Niessink, Bill & Betty Rogers, Nick Welch (High School Pastor), and Dave & Angie Whitacre
