Jerry Mapes

Global Missions Pastor

I’ve had the privilege of serving at Redding Christian Fellowship since 1995. Missions ministry is a big part of who we are as a church, and I’m honored to help lead that effort. My role involves staying connected with our mission partners around the world, ministering to their needs, and sharing their stories with our congregation. I also have the joy of leading Grief Share and EPIC—Experienced People in Christ.

I attended Los Angeles Baptist College, earned my Ministerial Certificate in 1997, and was ordained in October 2014. I love serving this community of believers and am passionate about visiting our missionaries in the field—encouraging them spiritually and meeting their physical needs through the generosity of our church family.

A verse that has always guided me is Matthew 28:18–20, the Great Commission. I believe this calling applies to all of us. “Go” isn’t optional—it means that as we go about life, we are to share Jesus with anyone willing to listen.

My wife and I have been married for 47 years, and we love living in the mountains. We have two grown daughters who love serving the Lord—and it doesn’t get better than that.
